2024 Rides & Events

2024 Rides & Events

The officer team has met and completed our preliminary rides and events for 2024 based on last year successes, feedback from survey, and ideas from planning meeting. There are still some things to work out but it is coming together. The next steps will be to find Ride Leads (YOU) that is willing to lead a ride or two (or more) this year. We may have the ride type and dates set, due to managing the calendar, but the Ride Lead will determine the destinations, routes, etc…  You will hear about the one-off rides and events soon but there are reoccurring ones that happen each month. These are:

  • Chapter Ride – takes place directly after the chapter meeting. It can be a lunch ride, a two part ride where it goes to lunch and then a longer afternoon ride, or whatever you come up with.
  • Breakfast Ride/Gathering – This is a new one this year but it will be a Saturday or Sunday ride in the morning for breakfast. The ride can end there or continue afterwards. Ride Lead choice… This is an Always-On event all year. Bike or cage dependent on weather.
  • Dinner Ride/Gathering – This is an evening ride to ride/meet for dinner to the location of Ride Lead choice. This is an Always-On event all year. Bike or cage dependent on weather.
  • Adventure Ride – This one is to ride AND experience something cool, unique, historical, etc.. Something that is an adventure, more than just a ride.
  • Weekday Ride – This is for those who are retired or can get off during the week. It is just a ride for something to do. It is suggested to make them long rides but it is up to the Ride Lead to determine their ride.
  • Easy Riders – This is a new one and is designed for those who like to ride but does not have much time or has health issues that prevent them from riding much. It is meant to be a ride less than an hour in total.

There are a lot more rides and events but I wanted to share some of the monthly reoccurrences. Most of these will rotate the day they are on, so we give everyone a chance based on their schedule.

We will be offering Harley Intermediate training, Ride Like a Pro introductory training paid for by Pig Trail Harley-Davidson. We will also be offering CPR training, and first aid training in the spring. This is all volunteer based but is a great opportunity for all.

Worried about planning a route and taking lead? We will also be doing a GPS route planning session soon. We also have a list of over 50 locations that are great destinations or Adventures that we can share. You can come up with your own or pick one from the suggestions. We also have a huge list of restaurants to get away from the usual ones… We are here to provide you with the information, tools, training, and support to be successful. We just need you to be willing to step up and lead some rides.

If you are willing to do this, reach out to Preston Mahan [email protected] and get your name on some. Let’s have a great 2024 and Let’s Ride!
